Why I’m building iProtect247.
Hi, I’m Nitesh.
For more than seventeen years I’ve designed and built large software systems: the kind that have to work every time, for a lot of people. I know how a platform like this is built, end to end, and what it really costs to run. So when I looked closely at the apps families rely on to keep each other safe, I didn’t like what I found.
- Your family’s location became the product. The biggest app in this category sold its users’ precise location data to data brokers (source, opens in a new tab) for years, until it was reported publicly.
- Ads inside a safety app. Free plans are paid for with advertising: one leading app’s ad revenue grew 315% in a single year (source, opens in a new tab). That’s pop-ups between you and the people you’re checking on.
- Safety behind a paywall. Emergency help like crash response is locked into plans that cost $15 to $25 a month, per family, every month.
- Marketing over substance. Sponsored reviews and big ad budgets decide what families hear about, not how well an app protects them.
A few big players set the rules and the prices in this market, and families pay twice: once with their money, and again with their privacy. I don’t think that’s fair, and I know it can be done differently.
Family safety shouldn’t be a luxury, and it shouldn’t be the thing being sold. iProtect247 gives families what they expect from the big apps (a live map, arrivals at home and school, driving and crash detection, SOS) without cutting corners, and adds what they don’t have: help that reaches verified Responders nearby, privacy controls that never weaken an emergency, close friends anywhere in the world, and a tag for the things you carry. At a price families can actually afford.
The promises I won’t break:
- We never sell your data. Not to brokers, not to advertisers, not to anyone.
- No ads, ever, on any plan.
- Emergencies are free, always: SOS and crash detection on every plan.
- Honest about what’s ready and what isn’t.
